Sarah Boucher Partner Practice 10/24

Jared and I had a very productive practice time tonight! I did a little warming up and Jared showed me a trick that helps me release my higher notes and keep my larynx low: if I do a quick low grunt before and go right into the warm up I am more released. Next he sang one of his Schubert songs for me. We talked about his higher notes because something weird was happening with them. We realized that it was because of the vowel after analyzing it more. He learned that he sounded great on a E vowel so he practiced moving from an E to an U. Then, we talked about a strange thing that is happening in my voice: My tongue shakes. At least we think it is my tongue. I can feel something shaking under my chin and we realized it is only when I sing with vibrato and it only happens in my middle range. We played around with it and we think that I could possibly be using my tongue to create vibrato...AH! So, I need to ask Cindy and Laurie about that cause that is a bit...scary! Anyways it was fun to have someone to discuss this with!
