Jake Spjute: The opening phrase wasn't well prepared probably because of us joking around in the intro. Although when Cindy worked with you it was the same feeling on those opening notes. You have a very open and resonant tone and you especially have that 'magic unicorn horn' sound on certain passages. If you had that great sound throughout every phrase this piece would blow everyone away. Good performance.
Laura Berg: You introduced your song very confidently and cleanly. I appreciated that. You have a sweet and easy to listen to timbre but I want to hear more horizontal connection through phrases. Some of the faster passages got percussive and choppy (like sausage links). I loved Cindy's exercise with trying to sing all the notes smaller the a quarter note. It helped you so much to connect the phrases. On wordy pieces I tend to get percussive as well so I understand. I learned from watching you so thanks!
