Brooke Meyers: Very nice brilliant and full sound on the "ah" vowel. The diction needs to be more clear, because it was really hard to distinguish what the words were. Cindy suggested that she sang with a more 'flowy' sense. She also worked on thinking the high pitches before she actually sang them so that she wasn't reaching for them with the muscles in her neck. When Brooke started doing something else rather then thinking of hitting the high note, the note came out much more freely. Cindy gave her a lot of material to work on, and I'm excited to hear what she'll do with it.
Laekin Burgess: Laekin was such a great sport as we each learned through her own learning process. We are all able to learn that it is not as effective to count but instead do something memorable that helps we remember when to come in and what the notes and rhythms are. She sang with very good diction and sang in the speak-place for the most part so that we could understand the story that she was telling.
Emily Floyd: Very nice release in the jaw, and her body looked relaxed. Cindy recognized that there was a big difference between the way that Emily speaks the words and the way that she sings. She had her practice saying the words and then singing them trying to sing the way that she had spoken them. When she sang after working through the phrase while speaking, the phrase came out much clearer and she was able to get rid of some of those things that have been holding back her tone.
