Master Class Critiques 10/3
Cassie Dibbons- She has a very full timbre which is really nice to listen to. Her knee keeps time with the music which is distracting and her eyes stay fixed on one point about ground level for the entire song which really limits her expression. She looked kind of out of it. She ran short of air at the end of several phrases which I think was a result of the breath being under energized. The air seemed tight and high in her back. Her diction was great, I understood everything she said and her intonation seemed to be fine. I would just work on the breath and the expression especially.
Aubrianne Dunn- I think there is tongue tension or something going on here. Her sound seems to be originating from her throat. What I mean by that is that she's manipulating her sound in some way. Her timbre is very breathy. I can hear a constant stream of breath. Her breath needs to be lower in her body so she can be more grounded. Her shoulders were rolled forward. She had decent expression on her face but broke character when she forgot her words.
Brooklyn Dyer- I had a difficult time understanding her words, she needed better diction. Her timbre was airy and her breath placement was high. She needs a lower breath in the body so she can get the sound out of her throat. She has a beautiful voice it just needs more body to the sound. Her expression in her eyes was great but she looked around a little too much. Looking around fit the mood and words in the song at first but then it became excessive.
