LaeKin Burgess Lesson Summary 10/1
For this week's lesson I was on the mend from being sick over the weekend. We started with the usual warm ups and vocalizes but Brianna noticed my vocal chords were swollen and so we didn't sing too much. We went over my french for one of my songs and discussed where to breathe in "O had I Jubal's Lyre." She told me to take it easy in opera and choir. I could feel and hear my cords were swollen too, so I did and have done a lot of mental practicing this week like what we read in Soprano on Her Head and what we discussed in class. Since I have a perfect excuse to mental practice this week my goal is to make observations regarding extra muscular action I use in my singing that I don't really need.
