Elizabeth Tait ER Ch.16 Summary

Summary: All of the experimenting we do to free ourselves must eventually lead us back to performing in a traditional sense.  We can't rely on "tricks" forever.   However, there is no ending point to learning.  There is no magical point where you will be fully aware and released and awesome all the time; it's a continuous process.  In this process it's important to realize that you and your body are always changing, meaning that ideas and warm ups that worked before may not work again.  tricks that worked for your teacher may not work for you.  Most importantly, trust your own knowledge and instincts as much as you value expert advice.
Key concepts: Learning is a continuous process of rediscovery that is personal and ever changing.
Making connections: I was especially interested in this passage: "...She saw that she was becoming addicted to the drama of her rescues..."  I find myself feeling the same way in music and in life.  I don't need someone to save me to feel good #problemswithmydramamonster
