Brooke's Master Class critiques

Brooke's Master Class critiques
Amber Denslow-
Her low notes are very strong and I really like the resonance that came as a result from her support on those low notes. Her intonation struggled and I felt that because she was so worried about getting the notes she forgot to breath correctly. Then Cindy got up and told her that if she paid more attention to the tonal "do" it would be better. It was amazing the difference in her voice. The audience won't hear the piece in tune if the performer doesn't know what in tune is. Practicing in another key will help us her to find that tonal center.

Moriah Boyer-
Moriah has a very pretty tone and presents herself with poise and grace. I feel like she really knew what she was singing about. Her high notes could use a bit more support. The high notes I think get stuck and need more vowel focus. Cindy got up and asked her "what do you want?" What does the score and script tell you is happening? She had Moriah sing while really listening to the music, really listening to the what the chords and harmonies were saying. Then she sang and it was amazing the difference that putting emotion does in a song. It drew me in and I just wanted her to keep singing. Singing on the vowel also helped her sound be more consistent.

Ben Shaw-
Ben has really good resonance with his voice and his diction is amazing and I really like his dynamic differences that he is able to do. I feel as though he was he was pushing the air too much and that he was working really hard to make the sound. Cindy had he sit and bend in half in order to teach his body how to sing without using his upper torso which was stiffening up his neck. He also has was letting too much air out right after he took a breath. He just has to think about his expansion while he is letting air out.
