Bric Slade ER 9

Bric Slade ER 9

Your mind is a very powerful tool when used correctly and extremely detrimental when used incorrectly. True, we are trying to produce amazing results but amazing results is the product, the mechanics behind the result are what we are essentially working on, and at the root of these mechanics is the mind. Sometimes it is better to rehearse the act in your head. Try breaking it down to rehearsing minute details in your performance. When you do this you strengthen your skill without having to use any energy producing anything. For instance, if you can't sing a high note, think sing the pitch rather than hurt yourself. You will train yourself to be more relaxed when you actually sing that part, and you wont cause yourself any damage. This works for many things. If we can figure out how to visualize our practice in the sweet spot than we can practice without practicing.

Key Terms: Visualize, Mind

Key Concepts: Visualizing correct technique is as good as actually performing at times.

Connections: If I can find a way to visualize the way things are supposed to be I can learn without the chance of making bad habits.
