Ben Shaw lesson summary

To start this lesson, Laurie and I first reviewed the song analysis papers I had turned in. We started with "Zueignung." For this song, we talked about establishing a different scene to associate with this song to establish a better connection. We continued with "nocturne." We discussed the difficulty in understanding songs like this; the more abstract. For "the roadside fire," we had less to talk about, however more to sing with this song. The majority of the lesson was spent on working out this song vocally while on an aerobic ball. However, before that and after the song analysis analysis, and with respect to the aerobic ball, we worked on relaxation postures and practices. Having a lot of shoulder tension, this was pertinent for me. I hope to see improvement in singing technique as I implement these practices.
