Sarah Brenay - Emma Wright - Lesson Plan for 1/29/14

I have given Emma some songs to work on so from here on out our lessons should follow a more traditional pattern.
First we'll warm up and release the voice and body, focusing specifically on her posture, shoulder tension, and hypofunction issues. One warm up I definitely want to try is the one from Brown's book - descending staccato scale on [bi, di, do, go, ni] or whatever voiced consonant works best. From there I just want to do some exploratory warm ups! Just get the hang of things.
Then we'll look at her repertoire! I'll be accompanying for her, so I'll have to have her stand where I can see her. I expect we'll focus on whichever one is most familiar to her since she only just got the pieces. I'm excited for this part. And nervous. Warm ups are one thing, but learning how to apply them is something else! Should be fun.

That's pretty much my plan! We'll see how it goes!
