Jake Spjute lesson summary 1-24-14

I felt like this lesson went really well today. We worked on some arias really quick to see what we should do for nats, but the main thing I learned today was about vowels and having the correct space for them. We emphasized transitioning from (e) to (i) in the higher registers of my voice. I learned that I don't need to change my tongue position or the shape of the 2 vowels hardly at all to get a better sound. And when I did it correctly it sets me up to sing the higher notes much more easily and with more freedom, because usually when I sing on an (i) I tend to close down the space which obviously causes problems. I'm really happy with what I learned today because I felt and heard improvement right away.
