Jake Spjute Angeles Lesson Record/Reactions January 22

We began the lesson with some simple stretches, rolling of the neck etc. Then we went through the same breathing exercises as last week with feeling the air in the sides. Then I told her to imagine is she was smelling a rose at the beginning of each exercise. We then did descending pentatonic scales on "a" starting on A4 and ended on E3, she has a pretty impressive low range!
After that I had her do ascending scales on an "i" starting on G4. On these scales I noticed that she was struggling with her breathing posture. So I stopped and talked about that a little. She asked about why that happens so I did my best to explain. Then we continued with the ascending scales. I noticed that as we got higher up the scale she started to use less voice, less energy, etc. We stopped at D5. I told her how I thought that she could actually sing soprano, because her speaking voice is really light and high, I just think she has always been more comfortable singing lower because it is less scary. So I asked her to sing some ascending scales in the higher range with more energy and to remember to think of the rose to set her breath up right.
