Summary: After the experimenting and exploring is done, we all must eventually land back on our feet, able to take what we've learned into the formal performance setting. Our knowledge is always growing a changing, and so we must continue to explore new techniques and possibilities. We need to trust ourselves to find our own answers. There is no concrete answer, no right or wrong, only the discovery of what works for you.
Key Concepts: There is no formula for perfect musicianship. We need to continually find new ways of doing things. We need to trust ourselves to find new answers.
Making Connections: I'm glad this book is over. So many great ideas to try though! I'm glad Ristad reemphasized the point that you need to find your own answers. It's tempting to read this book and think - Hey! All I have to do is sing on my head and learn to juggle and all my problems will be gone! - but as I've discovered, singing on my head doesn't work for everyone. The trick is in finding your own way. Letting your body and your voice take you on a journey. That was a good concept to end with.
