Sarah Boucher Masterclass Critiques 10/8

Brad Summers: I noticed that Brad had a very nice tone. I enjoyed how rich his voice is, and like how consistent his vibrato is! I felt like he was very serious though and so focused on his voice that no personality came out. He seemed distant from the emotion of the piece. I really liked how much improvement was made through Cindy's suggestions. As soon as she had him sing words in English that made him happy. His eyes had much more expression and it was enjoyable to watch. I loved how he was then putting himself into the piece after that! His tone was even freer because he wasn't just focusing on his voice!I think he needs to apply this even more to create a stronger connection with the audience!

Sarah Gee: I have not seen Sarah this confident in a long time! I was so pleased to see her not taking herself too seriously! I think that really helped her sound. Her tone was gorgeous, very full and round. Especially after Cindy told her to think about availability and awareness. I liked the idea that everything you need in singing is available to you. I loved how relaxed her jaw was and how calm she was. It was lovely!

Sarah Brenay: Sarah's tone was a bit far back at first and her vibrato was a bit inconsistent. I hear a great change when Cindy encouraged her to put the vowel on the beat! That image made her sound more present and full. It was gorgeous! She also had a lot more energy overall as she sang on the vowel which helped her breath support and phrasing!
