Mariah VRH 10/10

Mariah VRH 10/10
Emily Floyd
Emily had good expression and intonation throughout her song. Her timbre was warm but somewhat thin and breathy; she could open her mouth more. She had some bucket breathing as well. Her diction was good and had a lovely clear tone on the high umlaut vowel. There was a little too much of an ee sound in a few of her words. Overall, it was a nice performance but she could add more dynamics and create a fuller sound.
Alexandria Barlow
Alexandria had a clear, glassy timbre but was a little too quiet throughout her song, especially on her lower notes. She had good intonation and great diction. She was a little constricted on her higher notes and had some shallow breathing. Overall, she had a good tone but it was too quiet and could use more expression.
Hannah Lovato
Hannah was a little hesitant introducing herself and her piece. She has a great timbre: full, relaxed, feminine and mature. Her high notes especially are quite lovely. Her diction was great but she had too much ee on some words. A few breaths seemed a bit uncomfortable. She seemed a little nervous and grabbed at her skirt while singing. Her expression was very nice but she could maybe find some more variety. Overall, it was a very enjoyable performance.
Aubrey Robbins
Her introduction was a little too fast. Her timbre was melodious and warm, but her "ah" vowels were not quite as full. Her breathing was very balloon-like and she had good intonation. Her expression could be pushed further especially in her eyes; she also seemed to leave the song during the piano interludes. Overall, her sound was a little breathy but she did well.
