Mariah ER 16
Chapter Summary: As we learn new techniques, we need to decide for ourselves if they are working for us or not. We need to learn to rely on our own "internal wisdom" and not simply on the knowledge of others. Once we understand our view on something, we can comprehend other's views more deeply and decide for ourselves whether or not we agree with them. If we rely too much on others, we give them credit for our successes and don't completely trust our own skill. When the soprano on her head stopped trying to force herself to do her best, she was more free to become the singer she wanted to become.
Key Concepts: We need to trust in our own "internal wisdom" more than the knowledge of others.
Key Terms: internal wisdom
Making Connections: I need to be more aware of when certain exercises are helping me and when they are not. I'd like to try acting like the singer I want to become and sing like there is nothing at stake.
