After a week of practicing with some of the techniques that we have been learning in "A Soprano on her Head," such as dancing, pretend acting, and giving yourself permission to be bad, I felt prepared for this lesson in a different way then I had before. I felt more relaxed then usual and I knew that whatever I learned in this lesson would just help me build on what I have already been taught. As I went through some vocalizes, Brianna helped me to focus on areas of my body that I still had tension in. I kept on holding my neck in one place and I would also direct my notes through stretching the neck and pointing my forehead foreword. Once she made me aware of these things, I was able to then more easily let them go of the tension and a much freer sound came out. Another thing that I had to work on was thinking happy thoughts instead of trying to create happiness in the body. When I did all of these things, I had a freer and more brilliant sound come out of me then I possibly I have ever had before. I began to sing one of my pieces and was able to carry the freeness into my piece. I was having a hard time with some of the higher notes, and we worked on creating a stretch in my lower body. The notes just flowed out of me! I am so excited by the sounds I that came out of me! Hooray!
