Caitlin Craig Masterclass October 8, 2013

Brad Summers: His breath didn't seem terrible, but I could sense some tension in the back of his neck and back.  It caused his head to shake.  It gave me the sense that his breath needed more release.  His resonance the first time through the song seemed to be in his body, but when Cindy had him sing about his favorite things, his resonance changed to a simple place that was falling in front of him.  His sound became freer and not so effortful, as well as more legato and fluid.  Diction seemed to be accurate.  Overall I saw an improvement afterwards.

Sarah Gee: Sarah seems to be really improving.  Every time she sings I'm really impressed with her stable and deep breaths.  They seem to be really natural and effortless.  When she became aware of her weaknesses, (not trying to fix them, but being aware of them) it sounded better, and her jaw was more released.

Sarah Brenay: Breath didn't seem completely released.  Her timbre has a nice warmth to it.  Intonation seemed to be spot on.  The complaint I had was that her phrases didn't seem coherent, like they were lacking a direction.  When Cindy addressed her internal pulse, and feeling of the beat, and how consonants come before the beat, it seemed to really improve.  Breath and expression also improved.
