Lesson Plan 3.7.14
At the end of last lesson, we were trying to transition
quickly from falsetto to speaky and back, and I want to get back to that
today. So we’ll start with some
breathing reminders, by leaning over the chair, and then we’ll do some gentle
sighing type exercises. Once we’ve
done those for a couple minutes, I want to jump back into the 3212321 exercises
we did last week, right at the break between falsetto and speaky (I’ll probably
start at D4)
Then
I want to try some jumping exercises, so he can compare the feeling of the low
voice to the high voice. I have a feeling
that he is raising his larynx a lot for high pitches, and I want to make that
obvious to him. The exercise will
be a descending five note scale of some sort.
I
want to use only “b” consonant today, and perhaps some [k]. But not “h” and “l”!
I’m planning on only having a 20 minute lesson today,
because we’re going to work in Vocal Ped today on his piece.
