OB Chapter 16
Physical facts
All of those little bones cartilages and muscles we have been feverishly memorizing serve a purpose in our quest for vocal superiority!....well..... at least they all serve a purpose.
Hey look; it's the anatomy we had on our last test!
But wait, there's more! There is also a set of extrinsic Laryngeal muscles that play an important role as well. (I won't bore you with the complete list). The cool thing about these guys is that they have a big part to play too. They can pull on all kinds of stuff like the hyoid bone, and the cartilages of the larynx. These can be supportive of the actions of the intrinsic Laryngeal muscles if working in proper concert with them. Otherwise...well, you result will be less that satisfactory.
The real message of this chapter is know what's going on under that skin covering your laryngeal package and you will have a greater ability to learn to trust and let.
Key concepts: The laryngeal anatomy is a big set of both intrinsic and extrinsic muscles that must all work rogether in balance.... THINK AND LET
Key words: intrinsic, extrinsic, laryngeal, think and let, think and let, think and let...
Connection: So many little parts yet they all or most all serve a purpose. It's humbling that such small pieces in this puzzle do so much.
