Jaron Putnam Oren Brown Summary Chapter 16
Chapter 16 Summary
Oren Brown:
Summary: I KNOW THIS
STUFF!! My mind has been opened to the study of anatomy. Especially anatomy of
the Larynx. I like Oren Brown's statement that knowing what is happening in the
larynx and how it happens helps you to sing better, and not worse! This chapter
basically outlines a LOT of what we have been talking about in class.
Key Concept: Each
part of the larynx (and surrounding areas) has an actual function in helping
good singing. We can't feel these things, but we should know what they are and
how they work.
Key Terms: A lot…
Thyroid Cartilage, Cricoid Cartilage, Arytenoids, Hyoid bone, PCA, LCA. Etc…
Making Connections:
For me it has helped so much to understand the anatomy. I can think of tracheal
tug in a completely different way, and it makes a lot more sense, and I think
the sensation I get is different because of a more complete understanding of
the anatomy. I have enjoyed that part of the class.
