Chapter Summary
Deep practice involves practicing in a way where you frequently make mistakes. This type of practicing is found in many talent hotbeds around the world. The more mistakes or problems the individual encounters, the more opportunities they will have to work to solve those situations and prevent them as they continue to progress in their skill. The Link trainer was an invention designed to allow future pilots to go past limits safely and solve problems without endangering themselves. In Brazil, the world's renowned soccer country, there is popular game called futsal that is similar to soccer. Futsal involves a smaller playing space where the players come in contact with the ball more often than in soccer and forces the player to think and act much more quickly to solve problems they face in the game. This form of intensified soccer is considered one of the reasons for Brazil's soccer success. Deep practice is not what most people are used to. It builds new skills and turns mistakes into successes.

Making Connections
I need to stop focusing on choosing songs I think I will be able to sing and start testing myself with songs that make me think more, stretch my range, and practice deeper. Instead of becoming frustrated when I make mistakes, I need to use those times to study out why the problem is occurring and develop ways of overcoming it.
