Summary: Myelin coats nerve endings. The more the neuron is fired the thicker the myelin coating is. Every action is the result of electrical impulses sent along chains of nerve fibers. The more frequently you use that chain of nerves(circuit) the more accurate and efficient it is at firing. The more we build these circuits, the less aware we are that we are using them. Myelin is no respecter of persons. It isn't about who you are, it is about what you do.
Key Concept: Mistake-focused practice is essential because the best way to become better at an action is to fire that neuron and increase the myelin that coats it. Firing skill-circuits the right way leads to those circuits becoming faster and more efficient.

Making Connections: Building myelin requires a lot of time. This means that I need to be more patient with myself. It also means that I need to be sure I am practicing in the most efficient way possible to increase myelin on the right circuits, the circuits that will make a difference in my singing.
