Great Teachers are those who are observant and can make sense of what they see ad hear and translate that into a problem that they recognize and give a specific cue to bridge the gap in between. In order to make those connections the teacher must have what is termed the Matrix in this chapter. The Matrix is having an extensive knowledge on the subject that can be easily accessed. Linda Septien learned all that she could about singing, classical and pop, that she could she studied the purpose of each note and dance move in a pop sensation's performance. Not just one but several pop stars were subject to her scrutiny to figure out what worked and what didn't. She learned all of this and then used this exstensive knowledge to teach her students Jessica Simpson, Demi Lavato, Beyonce Knowels, and several others. She also gave the specific instruction like Jensen and Wooden did, conveying the feeling of the song, smaller phrases of the song and technical changes that needed to be made. Constantly observing the student and perceiving when they know what is going on, if they are absorbing what is being taught is also crucial. the specific instruction also can't be wishy-washy. it has to be straight to the point and almost commanding in nature. "Do this." "Good. Now try this."Being Theatrical is referring to how quickly you have to adapt your own attitude and reactions to meet each students' needs. Letting the right circuits to fire as often as possible is the name of the game for Master Coaches. For some you have to extensively train and have them practice weeks before they put into action what they have learned in order to make sure the right circuts are firing. Others just throw their pupils right in and they them selves can see how they fare.
Key Concepts:
We are not all the same and don't learn well when we receive general instructions we may think that doesn't it applies to to us or we may not full understand the concept and a more specific comment could give just the clarification that we need.
Something can't come from nothing and nothing can't come from something.
Key Words:

Connections:
I am building my matrix right now the harder I work, the more experiences I gain, the more I I can pull from when I teach.
