B: relaxed, but needed energy
I: holding back, prevented landing in pitch, sounded reached for
T: Hollow-ish
D: chewy
E: could tell she loved the piece, but that stopped you from enjoying it when you goofed.
O: she seemed like she was focusing so much on not overdoing it, that it inhibited a whole performance.
H: Body may resonate differently, but same vowel is spoken. text was MUCH better when enunciated which then helped timbre. the more you give (breathe, vowel, inspiration, etc) the more you'll find.
Sarah Boucher:
B: shallow, unintentional
I:
T: focused sound, but didn't quite resonate. timid ish.
D: vowels stay pretty consistent, need more consonants!
E: understood piece very well! but I think you could convey it differently so to make it more effective. I only saw it expressed in the face.
O: felt exact but not intentional. she executed things well but there needes to be more of a reason than just exactness.
H: needed to take preparatory breaths. Phrases felt more connected and meaningful after she settled into her breathing.
Sarah Lowe:
B: silent
I: excellent execution, but every pitch does not need same emphasis.
T: breathy, in the back of throat. needs to let sound fall forward.
D: don't quite catch "echo" or "triumph" until I've heard it many times. It sounded like she was trying to make vowel of "clap" tall, but sounded like "clop" to audience.
E: what is the motivation? losing the "why" in "why you're singing"
O: beautiful, but lacked captivation.
H: NIGHT AND DAY when she had fun!! had shape and fixed breathy sound and much better diction!
