Emily Floyd
There were only a couple of gaspy breaths after really long phrases. I could tell she was focused on calm easy breaths. In tune, there were a couple of vowels that stuck out as more strident. I can't remember what they were because i didn't write it down... Darker tone, higher notes seemed shallower. Her closed vowels sounded very french. I couldn't hear every word though. Very still, calm performance. Not too much expression. Thomas said to give more energy, let everyone hear it. He also asked for more presence! Let everything in your body vibrate when you sing. I noticed a huge difference in the core of her voice. It was fuller and gorgeous when she just let it out. Overall very calm performance, just a little stiff. I like the color of her voice.

Chest rose a few times while breathing. Not utilizing breath like she could be. In tune, higher notes were more resonant. She had a dark sort of covered sound until the higher notes, which were more open and resonant. Need harder consonants in German. Some words i couldn't pick out. Great expression, seemed calm, but maybe under energized. Thomas suggested breathing in rhythm to start the piece. That helped out a lot, there was a lot more presence to her voice when she did that. Speaking the words and having that sigh feeling were another thing he used to help her. Her voice is bigger and stronger than she believes. Release a lot more, free the voice. Overall she had a very calm presence, good expression and beautiful upper range.
Sara Low
Loud breath, I could hear almost every single one. In tune, pure tone, just pressed. voice was thin at times, in the back of throat. She was most open on the word "round", pretty consistent on that word. I could understand every word. She seemed a little tense and very nervous. Be happy to sing! Thomas wanted her to show she was having fun. The act of showing more expression in the piece really opened up her sound. He also suggested creative phrasing to get through the long ones and that made a dramatic difference in her voice. It created this huge sound. Overall she just seemed nervous, which can affect a lot of things.
