Sarah Boucher TC: Epilogue Summary
Chapter Summary: The myelin model is flexible and can be applied to all aspects of life. Knowing that this can be applied in anything really helps us to look at problems in another way. Coyle discusses how the myelin model can be applied to education, business, psychology, aging and families. Ignition, master coaching, and deep practice are elements that can develop any skill into myelin wrapped talent.
Key Points:
The Myelin model is flexible and can be applied to all skill sets.
As we age, it may get harder to build myelin but it is still possible and important.
Key Terms:
Making Connections: I love how logical the myelin method is. It all makes perfect sense and is so simple yet complex at the same time. I want to focus this semester on making deep practice a priority. I don't just want to learn music but I want to develop skill while I am learning it, especially through the process of chunking. This book, has changed how I look at not only singing but all skill sets and it helps me to know that I can build myelin in all skills if I just apply what I've learned!
