Chapter Summary: The Book of Judges. Our judges are those nagging feelings of not being good enough, having tension, stress, not meeting our challenges, or any number of mental barriers we place in the way of being free and successful. They can even take form as we visualize them as people from our everyday lives, symbols of our own mental oppression. We can learn to sense them, visualize them, and even to learn to converse with them. These judges seem to control our fate, our attitude, our happiness and depressive episodes, but ONLY if we LET them. We can learn to take control of our judges and our destiny, and we can overcome our fears and barriers as we visualize them as our judges and deal with them appropriately.
Key Concept: We are our own worst enemies and parts of ourselves, in the forms of judges, get in our own way; however, we can be our own masters and learn to command our judges and be free.
Key Terms: Judges
Making Connections: In trying to visualize my own judges I still have trouble giving them form and personality, but I know I struggle with perfectionism that leads to a defeatist attitude. The only person in the world I seem to get frustrated with is myself.
