The diagram of the Talent Code is applicable in nearly all aspects of our lives, not just teaching and singing. In Education, teaching our kids to read comes down to Phonics or the whole language approach. For years it was one or the other. In reality both are necessary. The relationship between phonics and the whole language approach is paralleled to the relationship between deep practice and ignition. In Business good organizations have always been compared to sports teams. Each member plays a certain role. When you apply myelin to business we see that businesses are simply groups of people building and honing skill circuits. In Psychology there is the idea that social skills are just like any other skill. There is an example they call social fitness training, we would just called it myelination through deep practice. As we age  Myelin can start to split apart. The good news is that we are always able to myelinate through deep practice. Instead if use it or lose it we should say Use it and get more of it. In our own homes the concept of failure has to change. Failure is a path forward.
