Elizabeth Tait TC Ch. 10 Summary

Chapter Summary: Distilled to its essence, teaching/coaching is all about making connections.  Effective teachers know how to forge a connection with each individual student, and "use that connection to find the truth about someone whose talent is yet to be known to the world, and maybe even to himself."  Connection making allows the teacher to cater instruction to what the student needs specifically, not what a student at that age should generally know.
Key Terms:
tactile learning
personification learning
image learning
physical learning
Key Concepts: Being a good teacher requires creating intimate connection with each student in order to become sensitive to their learning style.
Making Connections: Even those students you don't love, you have to find a way to love them anyway.  And if you can, only pick student with whom you can connect with more easily, because you will teach them better.
