Voice Recital Hour, from Amber

Voice Recital Hour...What Amber doth see

Brooke Myers
Her breathing seems a bit shallow, but the intake is quiet. I am attributing this to nerves as there is some interesting movement in the feet with one heel or another lifting off the ground. another signal of nervousness is a strange stiff stance, almost as if she is at attention, only her arms are straight out at 45 degree angles. Well, okay... and the shaking. Her tone quality/timbre is fluttery, bright, resonant, effervescent and only slightly breathy at the rare spot. There is this amazing beautiful sound that comes out when see really drops her jaw. I am really impressed that in spite of a very obvious battle with nerves, she is able to maintain appropriate facial expressions with the text she is singing which is about 80% clean in diction.

Kimberly Robbins
Her tone quality/timbre is vibrant, pingy, open, light, glassy, round, and is especially resonant in the higher register.
Diction was about 80% clean. NICE control of dynamics. There also seems to be excellent control of stance, posture, expression and breathing. A bit restrained, but a very nice all around presentation.

Emily Floyd
That is one of the best stances I have seen anyone take in recital hour for a long time. Her timbre is all over the place. It varies between light and dark, breathy and solid, covered and open. It is like a different voice on every note. Is this a cold coming on?
But wow, better than last time with the general posture and seeming lack of tension int he body. I saw no shaking at all. big improvement there.
