Taylee - ASOHH ch. 4

Taylee. Summary: Often times, by being too focused on fixing, correcting, improving, etc., a person only adds to the problem they are trying to solve. A good example of this predicament is presented using the Motor Learning Theory. We focus too much on what we should/should not be doing instead of what is happening. The energy will go where the mind sends it.
Key Concepts: Whatever we focus on is what will happen. If we're concentrating too much on the action, we're not allowing the result to be the focus.
Key Terms: Inner clowns.
Making Connections: I have had the same feeling that is described in the book when the student thought that when they did it correctly it was an accident. I can't ever seem to reproduce the same awesomeness after I make a sudden break through. I need to change my focus. When I make those break-throughs I wasn't noticing what I was doing, I was more concerned with what was happening. So when I go to try that part of my song I need to pay closer attention to the result and not how it's made.
