Luke Shepherd-FOr the most part the breaths in this performance were very good. He didn't have much trouble carrying his tone all the way to the end of the phrase, which gave the performance a consistency that I really enjoyed. There were a few times when I was able to hear the breaths and where I saw the shoulders engaged in the breaths slightly, but other than that it was very good. The intonation was solid and the diction was clear. His timbre was mostly good but seemed tight at times as if there was something holding it back from being resonant. I thought that to be especially true in the lower range. The mood of the piece was fairly well expressed, and I thought he did a good job making adjustments based on Cindy's feedback. His voice was a lot more resonant and free sounding when she was there helping him. All of the phrases had more drive to them and it was just an overall better performance. It was a good rendition of the song that will be even better when that greater resonance is achieved.
