Sam- Songs my mother taught me
Sam has beautiful tone and diction. His voice sounds a little nasally. the connection between his voice is off. And his high notes seem a bit tight. I would suggest dropping his jaw. Cindy wants to put more connection in his voice. She had him move to what he thought the phrase should sound like. I noticed that this made him forget about his song and just let his body work. Its what she talked about in Vocal Ped about how we do thing automatically while not singing but we forget to incorporate it with our singing. So after she made him move he concentrated on the movement which made his connection of lower and high voice and his body more loose. Then she gave him a series of exercises to pull back his shoulders because in his natural position he looks somewhat afraid. Overall I really do like his voice. I think that he did a great job and I also think it is cool that he did it in his mission language.

His voice is light and legato almost sounds effortless. I felt like he really new what he was singing and portrayed that through his about I feel as though he remembered correct breathing for only a little bit of the performance but it got him at trouble in the end when he need more breath support for the last few measures. I feel this happens because his chest was somewhat collapsed. Then Cindy got up and held back his arms making him engage his body in a different way. She called it a more "expensive sound". She then had him put energy into his song. To my ear it was much nicer to listen to. His overall performance once he learned how to stretch his sound was much better.
