Elizabeth Tait: Girl, you have a lot of color in your voice and I thought your sound was very open and warm, even in your lower register. Your facial expression was pretty good and I loved the focus in your eyes as you looked toward "heaven". Your eyebrows raise up and down with the contour of the music which wasn't too distracting but I thought I would mention it. Some of your breaths looked harder than others as if you were prepping for something different than the phrase before, but for the most part breaths were deep. When you were working with Thomas I felt like you tensed up at first but then eased into it. With his help your higher notes sounded much more full and connected to the rest of your register. I loved what he had to say about his two rules of singing: Breath must always be generous and consistent, and vowels must always be consistent. Fundamental and yet so important to always keep in mind. Great job, Liz!

Luke Shepherd VRH 9/19
When I was working with Thomas I was a little nervous at first because I wanted to please him but he really helped me ease into working with him. He was very calm and straightforward and his direction was right on the target. I could feel that as I began to think about what he wanted me to do my voice made adjustments all on it's own without me having to "micromanage" what I was doing. I need to let the music inspire me and work with me instead of me working against it. Working with him was a VERY positive experience, one I hope to continue to be able to re-experience.
