Jaron Putnam Voice Recital Hour Summaries Sept. 12 2013

Jaron Putnam Voice Recital Hour Summaries: September 12th 2013-

Singers: 2,5,8

Brooke Myers-
Timbre is very bright. Nice sound. Good sense of legato on the long "Ah" phrases. Sound has a sense of heaviness and weight on the voice in the upper range. Sounds a little forced. To free up the sound, you might be work on grounding your body a little more. I noticed some shifting feet, and hands seemed to put you in a tight place in your body. Beautiful sound! Work on being grounded and loose at the same time.

Kimberly Robbins-
Beautiful song, Hard to perform with right emotion when piano is playing kind of quiet… But very well done. Beautiful free sound up high. The tone is a little airy. That would be one thing to work on. Didn't see the connection to the piece that could have been there. Very strong text- You could have helped influence the piano player to get into it more if you would have gotten into it more!

Emily Floyd-
Very nice rich covered sound. Seeing some bucket breathing. Shown by audible breathing. And slight raising of the shoulders. High notes come across as a little covered as well! Work keeping the high points of the phrase energized! This will help increase brightness and open the sound more. Beautiful voice.
