Jaron Putnam Chapter 6 Summary TC

Jaron Putnam Chapter 6 Summary

Summary: Ignition has an incredible power to change how we practice and become better at certain skills. All it takes is one person who can achieve something incredible to open the doors for others to follow. Sometimes all it takes to free our minds to a possibility is to just see one person who makes it. We can then be ignited in the same way and achieve incredible things. A large part of the chapter focused on the efforts of a small baseball on a small island. They didn't have resources or a large population to get the best of everything, but they did have Andruw Jones. One man who did incredible things and started a talent hotbed. Seeing these incredible people do incredible things is just one way that we can keep ourselves working towards becoming better.

Key Concepts: There is a possibility (if we work hard) that all it takes to "ignite" our practice and skill is the example of one incredibly talented person. If we see what they can accomplish, then our vision can be increased so that we can accomplish great things.

Key Terms: The Sistine Chapel Effect
Motivational Language

Making Connections: What I need to do is seek out those individuals who have made great strides in the realms of singing. I need to recognize how they got where they got and then I need to work on emulating them and getting to where they are.
