Jake chapter 6 tc

The key to sustaining your motivation for whatever you are doing in life is sustained ignition. The baseball team from Cuba never made it to the World Series until they saw one of their natives hit two home runs in one game in his World Series debut, at age 19 nonetheless, against a stud pitcher in Andy Pettit. Those boys saw him, an underdog, achieve something incredible, they saw a kid from their tiny island become an international superstar. They used this to ignite their passion and in a few years they were able to go to the LLWS and become known as the giant slayers. They were able to continue their success to this day because they had an example like Andruw Jones, and many others to keep that ignition activated throughout their lives. We all have examples like that in our lives where we see an underdog do something incredible and then we want to be able to do something amazing ourselves. This ignition gets us through all the thousands of hours of deep practice.
Key terms: sustained ignition
Concept: we use examples of greatness to ignite our passions
Connections: I love seeing others succeed at something out of the ordinary and I definitely try to remember them through the hard times that we all go through achieve success. I have to keep finding examples of greatness and aspire to be able to achieve like they have.
