2. Brooke Myers- There was quite a bit of tension in her breath that I could hear translated into her vibrato. She seemed to be squeezing her back muscles which lessened her breath capacity and energy, and in result she was breathing buckets.  The ending of phrases were a bit harsh because I could tell she was trying to use every last ounce of air.  I think that her fluttery and wide at times vibrato could be evened out with better breath management: by thinking happy breaths to keep the feeling of the air constantly moving in and proper "dump moments", instead of compensating with the collapsing of the rib cage and upright posture.  I did notice that her timbre changed drastically from her top to her bottom, I think this was probably due to the lack of breath management and height in the soft palate.  Diphthongs affected her phrasing, specifically with the word "Triumph" she seemed to almost completely skip the "ah" vowel, and move straight  to the "ee" in the "ah-ee" diphthong.  I think she could focus on sustaining the "ah" part to refine the phrasing.  I did see that she was smiling, but I wasn't completely convinced because her body looked very uncomfortable.  I would like to hear her present a specific and new thought on each word that she repeats throughout the coloratura phrases, and perhaps gain a deeper connection to the text.

5. Kimberly Robbins- I think that Kimberly was under the weather today, because her breath seemed much more noisier than I recall hearing from past performances.  She was collapsed in posture during her performance, which would make it hard to feel the release and depth in her breath.  I didn't spot any problems with intonation, but her timbre seemed to be breathy throughout the whole song, probably due to her lack of the "tug" feeling.  The only diction pitfall that I noticed was that she lacked a certain specificity when it came to the ending consonants of words, especially on the last word "Loud".  I didn't find her to be expression to be genuine because I didn't see that normal look of intent and connection in her eyes, and also the uncomfortable posture in her body.  I wanted to see her open up and roll her shoulders back.

8. Emily Floyd- Her breath management didn't seem to be working for her.  I felt like she was pushing air out as she was singing, rather than keeping the inner suck, or position of the inhale (smize).  She needed to feel more of a release in her rib cage and inner tube area.  I think this would also fix the breathy timbre.  I think her Italian could be cleaner and smoother, and perhaps less focused on consonants and more on the bright Italian vowels.  I saw that she was genuinely focused on one focal point throughout the song and looked like she was singing about love, but I think she could practice speaking the text, to make it more meaningful and specific to herself and her audience.
