Brooke's SOHH Chapter 3 Summary-
Movement is a vital part of creating. If we try to control that movement or make it stop all together we are doing ourselves a discredit. When we let ourselves feel the music or move to the music it is then that we are making and performing something that will "move" the audience. Thinking about a phrase is wonderful but "movement can clarify the musical responses". It make the performance real and draws the audience in.
Key Concepts- "let your body tangle with the music and mingle" feel the energy of the music and then you will find yourself singing better.
Key Terms- movement,
Connections- I now get it! I get why in master class or voice lessons our teachers will have us move our arms are body in order to feel the music. I never before realized why it made such a difference. Movement helps us to feel the music and that is what we want. We want it to become alive in us because then it means something and the audience picks up on that.
