Amber's Master Class Critique
Shalayna
B. Seems to be gasping slightly. I think I need help understanding the motion and look on a real body between the whole balloon/bucket thing to really give an accurate response.
I. Seemed in tune.
T. Rich, resonant, mature
D. Diction was around 60% clean
E. More restrained than usual, but appropriate.
M. Diction improved. Interesting approach to improve diction by addressing where the inflection of the words and syllables should occur.
The instruction was to say the text as if it were lines in a play, then to use that voice to sing it in.
Fascinating improvement, went up to an 80% clean diction perception for me.
O. I have never heard anyone else sing this song that has OWNED it as well. Shalayna's performance is real and believable. There is connection with the meaning and emotion, or at least it seems as if there is.
Jake
B. Could tell the abdomen was engaged, and supporting.
I. in tune, n sense of wavering within the pitch (ie: riding the top or lower end of the note.
T Bright, open, resonant, confident.
D. 80 %
E. Appropriate, intense, strong.
M. High notes much better, supported and more consistent. The idea of the "removal of the crutch"
O. Exciting, intense.
