Hannah-
She has a very beautiful tone and her high notes are amazing. She is pretty good at connecting her step wise notes but when she has a leap or is in her lower register she somewhat loses this connection that she has in her high register. I have this problem of connection as well. There are a series of warm up that I do specifically to over come this. It involves a lot of sliding and a lot of attentive practice. When Cindy got up to help her she mention three main things, her tone is beautiful, she needs to keep her back molars apart, and keeping her head in the right place. Once she was able to put these into action her tone in her middle range though not yet perfect had very much improved.
Taylee-
She has a nice sound is in her middle range especially does a very nice job of keeping her voice in the perfect resonating spot. I noticed on her high notes that she keeps her mouth closed. She does have space in the back but with her mouth closed we don't hear it as much. Dropping her job is the obvious way to fix this. When Cindy got up she had Taylee lay the her top half of her body on the piano and sing. As an audience we were able to see how much she used her shoulder blade muscles to breath. Once she started breathing from the proper place and kept her shoulder back her sound improved tremendously.
Laekin-
She has a very nice tone and from what I could see nice posture. Her high notes are good and have good space but some of her low notes got swallowed. It is the same with what I said about Hannah. She needs to connect and bring her voice forward in her mouth. Cindy got up and then talked about being comfortable with one self with this particular song. It got me thinking, if a performer can go into a performance confident and proud of who they are think of how that would effect the performance. I think with the confidence ones performance would be much better and my proof is Laekin herself. Even when she stood a little taller just that slight difference impacted her whole performance.
