Jared Daley Lesson summary 2/12/14

So for the first half of my lesson we just talked. I came in telling Cindy that i was just burnt out. So we created a life plan and some strategies to get me through the rest of this semester. It's been tough because I just don't want to do anything. Every little task just seems like a huge burden and i want to literally do nothing. So we talked about creating plans. You really just have to be super organized with your time or at least pretend to be. Just writing down the things you have to do helps out a lot. Creating lists give you an actual visual to show you exactly what you have going on. Sometimes we just think about them in our heads and we make them seem a lot worse. Anyway after that we sang a little bit and worked on a piece. The main thing we focused on was keeping tons of space for every note, no matter what the exercise. I have been relatively successful lately at not squeezing as much and not pressing, but the space is inconsistent. It was actually super hard for me to maintain the space. We had to make tons of ridiculous faces to just keep me from holding or pressing. Overall i walked away feeling better about the semester and about life. We also looked at my long French Piece. It's the most daunting so we knocked out a couple pages. We focused on having space throughout the line. We also focused on not breathing. haha. I had to just make a huge surprised like face and just open everything to the extreme and just let air in. It was difficult and i did have some success with it.
