Amber and Monday's six places of balance

Monday evening at the mirror.

I decided that since my legs were uneven and affected everything all the way up, I grabbed a thick book that evened my hips out until there was proper release.... in order to go back to the top and get started. Tonight's title for balance, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". Now, I can get started at the top and work my way down. For sure I am holding my neck too far forward. How nice it is to feel that release. However, my habit is so bad that I have to keep reminding myself to put it back where it belongs when I feel the tension. I'm good with the arms I think. and the thorax in relationship to the lumbar is having a little trouble. That took longer that everything else.
I sometimes feel strange with my legs even. I think I may be overcompensating when I don't have a lift and may be actually raising my left hip rather than dropping it to fill the gap. But, with a lift in place, things just fall right where they need to be through knees, hips, and ankles (this is why a copy of "A Brief History of Opera" is now being kept in Laurie's studio for when we work). I wish I could get away with wearing one 2" pump and one flat everywhere instead of just relying on boots with inserts. The variety would be fun. Maybe I should do it anyway...mwahahahhaha!
