Amber. Listening assignment: vowels

Listening Assignmen: vowels

Anna Netrebko: Her jaw gets nice and vertical. However, it seems to take her a while to eventually arrive at the full vowel shape with the mooshy positioning of her jaw and lips. I see a lot of lip rounding and pucker, but oh so mooshy.

Simon Keenly: He is also mostly vertical with his jaw and mouth position. He gets to those open vowel positions quickly and cleanly, but his chin moves up and down an awful lot. He has lot of that puckery, rounded lip action going on.

Jonas Kauffman
: He is half horizontal and half vertical, but consistent where he is doing it (Vertical [I] etc.). Either way, he is also instantly at his vowel position when he opens his mouth to sing. Lip rounding present.

Cecilia Bartoli
:..... Well!...... erm... that gives a whole new meaning to the term, “Middle Age Spread”. How on earth is she getting that quality with such a horizontal, lock jaw type position?
