Jared Daley chapter 6 summary TC

Jared Daley chapter 6 summary TC

Ignition is contagious. We can actually share our "drive". Our ignition and motivation to achieve out goal shows others that they are able to do their best as well. I related this to heroes, not in the super sense but in the sense that we watch those that inspire us and it creates hope for ourselves. The underdog stories where they come out on top are so inspiring because it ignites within us a sense that we too can achieve something great. The problem with ignition is that we need to keep it burning. We need more than just the initial spark. Positive reinforcement is key. This is not fake compliments to boost ego, it is giving meaningful praise when deserved. Constructive, positive feedback is constantly needed.
Concept: in order to keep the fire burning we need to constantly seek out new motivations or better motivations to keep doing better.
Key terms: sustained ignition, motivational language
Connection: I honestly get compliments on my voice all the time, but it's really ineffective in helping me become a better singer because I know I have a lot to achieve. Real compliment such as "you have improved in such and such a skill" is more beneficial to me. It would help keep the fire burning to practice and achieve.
