Sarah Boucher TC: Chapter 7 Summary

Sarah Boucher TC: Chapter 7 Summary
Chapter Summary:
Talent hotbeds do not necessarily need an outside source to spark ignition. Through words, praise of hard work and encouraging awareness, ignition can begin.
Key Points:
Ignition does not always require a "miracle" to spark. It can be sparked intentionally.
Key Terms:
Making Connections: I really like that in the KIPP program they teach their students that they are responsible for themselves. What a better way for teaching awareness than making sure that they realize how responsible they are for their own progress? I hope to encourage my students to develop this awareness of self and take an active part in their own vocal progression. It also helps to remind me that it is not my teacher's responsibility to make me grow as a singer, it is my own hard work that will help me get there. Their job is just to give me tools to help facilitate that growth.
