Jared Daley Chapter 8 Summary TC

Jared Daley Chapter 8 Summary TC

I honestly wish I could quote this whole chapter. Being a master teacher has nothing to do with the vast amounts of knowledge you have. It's about getting across that knowledge to an individual student in a way that that helps them learn best. You must cater to their unique personality. It's not about the pep talks or the chastisements. When the talent whisperers gave instruction it was small, targeted, highly specific adjustments. It's pure information, What to do, how to do it, and when to intensify. Just like with deep practice you have to set specific goals for students. You have to be able to deliver the information at the precise moment that they need it in order to learn the most. We must become deliberate cultivators of myelin.
Concept: My favorite quote from this chapter is "Don't just tell them what to do, you have to become what they should do."
Key Terms: Talent whisperers
Connection: I realized that I could potentially be a great teacher because I already have a way with people that i do adjust the way I engage in social activities depending on their unique personalities. Everyone needs to hear information in unique ways.
